About Me

TLC Art

I  have drawn and painted on and off for most of my life, mainly self-taught, although lately I have had the opportunity to learn from a couple of local artists.

I have always lived in Old Marston, Oxford, so have seen many changes over the years, some good and some not so. Although much has changed over the years, including new developments, some of the local landscapes, such as the University Parks, have remained the same, changing only with the seasons.

Drawing and painting has always been my ‘escape’, somewhere I can escape from the everyday world and immerse myself in the moment. Sometimes I am expressing what is going on inside. Other times I am reflecting on what I see.

I have also attended several courses at the Newlyn School of Art in Cornwall. This has given me new perspectives when painting and sketching.

My work tends to be realist in style, as opposed to photographic, and I work in coloured pencil, watercolours, acrylic as well as oils.

The sizes of my work can range in size, from A6 to A1, on paper, board or canvas.

My work is available either as originals, prints or greetings cards. I also take commissions for original artwork.

Oxfordshire Art Weeks

Last year, 2025, was the first time I took part in the annual Oxfordshire Art Weeks, exhibiting at The Red Lion pub in Old Marston.

Job of work

When I am not painting, drawing or sketching then I am busy serving my local community as clerk to Old Marston Parish Council.
